Dear Mr. Wells, My first visit to USA was at the ADA congress in Chicago 1975. There I fell in love. We decided to stay together and we still are. And "she", that is, the Dentassist. Until then I had been working with the Chayes concept which was good, but I imagined this was better. I bought two units and these were the first you sold in Europe I think. In the meanwhile I have bought six more units as I have built new offices twice. But the oldest ones are still in use and in perfect condition in my former office. Today my wife, also a dentist, and I have a 6-operatory office with three hygienists. We have created a working concept that is simple and gives the very best ergonomics to all of us. All operatories have Dentassist of different ages. The last two ones we actually picked up at the factory last year when visiting the Hinman meeting and brought back to Sweden as Ordinary luggage on the flight home! I these 16 years I have never had a serviceman in my office to repair any of the Dentassists. That is the truth. The only problems we have are from lime deposit in the water supply. We always notice this before it stops function and it takes less than five minutes to take the lime away and to replace the automatic cutoff valve and rinse it later. Then we have changed the handpiece tubing's every second year. Some switches have broken and then we have replaced one plastic cover which broke when an x-ray head dropped into it. We still have left the valves from our first service kit! Did you know that all spare parts are available in Sweden as they are standard pneumatic components for pneumatic operation controls in factories? You can rely on the Dentassist, it never fails. It will not cost you stillstand and expensive repair. But the best advantage of the Dentassist is that you easily can work without assistance. You can perform perfect four-handed dentistry with almost any unit, as it is the assistant who transfers badly placed tools! But on the Dentassist you easily reach them yourself, especially syringe and aspirator. No other unit can compare with the Dentassist in this regard. I didn't believe very many dentists are working with full four-handed dentistry most time of the day, on the contrary it's a very short time. Therefore they need a unit that permits ergonomic and efficient two-handed dentistry. This is the unique advantage of the Dentassist Thank you for the Dentassist FOGDEGATAN 21 TEL. 035-12 00 22 POSTGIRO 53 90 15-8 |

Mr. Jim Wells
Dear Jim: Since 1969 a lot of new stuff has come down the pipeline in the equipment business. As management consultants we are very concerned about how the unit balance is positioned for four handed dentistry and adequate work area. The HSP units are first class. My clients have found that with the HSP stools and using the units they are more effective in their work and the units have contributed significantly to the improvement of lower back pain. The dental assistants also have found this to be true. When everything is located at the dentist's fingertips there is less stretching and reaching. It is easier to practice dentistry and less stress is involved. We have found that the maintenance on these units far exceeds the durability standards of many of your competitors. I like the fact that the units are attractive and the patients seem to appreciate the High Tech look. Good stuff Jim, I like it and the doctors do too. Respectfully, Paul E. Goldman Paul E. Mr. Jim Wells, President Re: Prospective buyer of dental units Dear Jim, In my many years of dental practice I have had the opportunity to work with nearly every kind of unit, both American and European. Just as it made no sense to practice dentistry standing up, neither does it make sense to have instruments where they are unhandy to the procedure; nor should tubing's and cored be exerting a pull on the instruments during a difficult or delicate maneuver. In my opinion the HSP cannot be beat, and the company assists after the sale with advice and help! Prospective buyers are invited to call or fax me at our numbers above. Sincerely, Fred E. Dear HSP: I appreciate your prompt attention to my needs and I'm looking forward to my new equipment. I started my practice in Hanover in 1967 and it wasn't long before the old Ritter stand-up unit I had was "ancient". So, I looked around for a "simple" unit (not one with the springdriven retraction lines, etc.) to make life a bit more enjoyable during the workday. When I decided to purchase the HSP Dentassist Liberty unit in the early 1970's, it turned out to be just what I had hoped - simple, easy to use and durable. I have been really happy with the HSP unit - so much that I replaced it with one of the Dentassist Liberty Units from your upgrade program in 1991. Again, thanks for your help... Keep up the good work! Sincerely, |

Dental Care P.C. Mr. Jim Wells, President Dear Mr. Wells: I want to compliment you, your staff, and your company for your many fine contributions to the dental profession. Having been in clinical dental practice over 16 years, I have used many of your products, namely HSP Liberty dental units and "Alabama Style" mobile cabinets. Their quality design and manufacture, and their durability have stood the tests of time. I have found no other dental equipment that has exhibited such consistent durability. Presently, I operate a dental group practice with extended hours of operation, hence my equipment experiences heavy usage, and from a variety of dentists, both left and right handed. While my HSP Liberty dental units are designed for "right-handed" dentists, my "left-handed" associates can adequately and safely adapt the units for their use during treatment, with no loss of efficiency. I personally know of your commitment to research and design modifications to improve delivery systems and enhance patient comfort. You actively seek suggestions from, and are attune to the changing needs of the practicing dentist, as evidenced by your equipment enhancements. Thank you for your continuing support of our profession and enhancements to health care delivery. Our patients benefit greatly. Sincerely, J M Briscoe, Jr. DMD Joseph M. Briscoe, Jr. DMD

Norman D. Busch, D.D.S. Health Science Products, Inc. Gentlemen: I have been using your HSP dental units every working day since 1979. Everything has performed very satisfactorily and I'm sure will continue to do so for many years to come. I would have no problem recommending your HSP dental units, as a good buy for the money, to anyone practicing clinical dentistry. Sincerely yours,

H S P Dear Sirs, The purpose of this letter is to praise the HSP units. In our practice we have six units to include doctor/assistant sinks and work areas. We have the Alabama carts and over the patient delivery, which have been in heavy usage since 1982. The two hygiene units really take a pounding with all the traffic they get and we have had minimal routine maintenance on them. We have enjoyed the flexibility of adding accessories, like electro surg, extra high speed vacuums, curing lights and five hand pieces. Sterilization, now a buzz word in dentistry has been easy with the HSP units, carts and cabinets. All the surfaces are easily reached and wiped off and are stable to the new cleaning agents. The knee push sinks are "leading Edge" in their design. Even before the sterilization emphasis, patients would comment on the fact we were using them and it made them feel secure. The knee sinks should be a requirement in all medical/dental offices. The esthetics of the HSP units are beautiful. Colors, texture, and design lets them be an eye catcher in any office. We have observing doctors in our office whose first comment is always how much they like the looks of the units. In summary, the literature is conclusive in documenting the efficiency, quality and high technology of the four-handed HSP system for dental delivery. The icing on the cake is their reliability, flexibility and beautiful esthetics. Sincerely, Michael C. Fair Michael C. Fair D.D.S. Inc. |

GERALD B. SAVORY D.D.S. Health Science Products Dear HSP: Dear HSP, As per our conversation of late January, I am enclosing a letter of recommendation and referral for your Dentassist Units. I purchased these units in early 1981 and have been quite pleased with their performance. The simplicity of design, along with the ease of maintenance has been a wonderful addition to our practice. I am pleased to say that in nine very hard years of use, I have had very little or no maintenance on these units. Other than the usual wear and tear that is associated with a very busy general practice, these units have held up very well. I would certainly ask my colleagues to seriously consider your product upon purchase of power units in the future. Sincerely, G B Savory Gerald B. Savory, D.D.S.

R. C. Masterson, D.D.S.
Dear HSP: I want to thank you for the dental units I purchased in 1975. They are still fully useful. The across-the-patient delivery of dynamic instruments is the most efficient system I've seen. The equipment has been a pleasure to maintain. Repairs have been easily done by my own hands, which is important in rural California, 300 miles north of San Francisco. Keep on makin' those tough and simple units! Yours, |

Mr. Jim Wells, President Health Science Products, Inc. Dear Mr. Wells: Since 1973 I have had five (5) HSP Dentassist dental units in my pediatric dental practice. Because of the reliability and durability of these units I have decided to have your company rebuild all five units to a new condition, utilizing the newly designed Liberty III asepsis covers to meet the higher standards of infection control. These rebuilt units are performing as new units and certainly speak well of your staff's commitment to the quality of your products and customers. These units have been virtually trouble free and I would highly recommend the HSP Dentassist for any dentist who wishes to decrease operating stress and fatigue. Thank you for your commitment to quality products for the dental profession. Sincerely, Bob L. Roebuck, D.M.D. Bob L. Roebuck, D.M.D.

WILLIAM R. KNODERER, D.D.S., F.A.G.D.
Health Science Products, Inc. Dear HPS: It was in 1979 when representatives from HSP first presented the concept of effective four-handed dentistry in our area. With that, came the realization my existing equipment was ill suited to this concept. While I was convinced effective delivery would increase production and reduce stress I was unsure if I should elect to replace some of my older systems with HSP units. It was after much consideration I decided to go with new units. In the years since I made that first decision, I have replaced all my systems with HSP delivery units, chairs and carts. And today with up to twelve years use on some of those pieces I do not regret making the choice. The system still functions as was originally advertised and repair parts (which are seldom needed) remain available locally just as makers intended. All in all it was as promised. Certainly, dentists today need to make effective use of the discretionary income, and I can think of no better value than equipment that does as intended and stands the test of time. Kudo's to HSP for a design well done. Sincerely,
|

I wanted to take a minute of your time and tell you about my Health Science dental units that I use in my practice. I opened my practice in August of 1976 with two Health Science units and two DentalEz chairs. Today, over twenty years later, I am still using these chairs and units in my dental practice. I have encountered very few problems with these units throughout the years. At some point in the future, I will upgrade to your newer units, but since these units are working so well, it will probably be a while before I do this. Thanks for constructing a very durable product.
Sincerely,

DAVID L. REDDING D.D.S., LTD.
Mr. Jim Wells, President Dear Jim: As you know, I have been practicing dentistry for a good many years. During that time I have studied many dental operatories and, years ago, I came to the conclusion that the HSP Dentassist is the leader. I recommend that other operative dentist carefully consider the HSP unit. It was designed many years ago as a four-handed dentistry unit and I purchased my first one soon after they came to market. Over the years of using two H.S.P. Liberty units in my two busiest rooms, I can say that they have performed with ease, in any position, even when working alone, as I do. The same basic principles that were thought out long ago, work equally well without an assistant as they do having a chair-side assistant. This is a unit positioned for four-handed dentistry but will give the solo worker three hands, with very natural movements to the work area. Since the early 70's I have used the H.S.P. Dentassist Liberty with a constant awareness as to its ease in use. I can truthfully say that the Dentassist Liberty dental unit works better than any other unit for the dentist that works without an assistant! Sincerely,

Mr. Jim Wells, President
Dear Mr. Wells, I just wanted to write and let you know how much we appreciate your company. I've been in practice since 1977 and I have found them to be extremely reliable, well designed, and highly efficient. Our dental assistant and hygienists feel the same way; even our hygienists who work alone. I'm located in a small town and I'm not always readily accessible with maintenance from dental supply houses. What little maintenance I have required, I'm usually able to do myself with the outstanding service backup that you have provided. Many companies are unwilling to discuss problems with dentists. I have found HSP is always willing to solve the problem over the phone for me. Units are logically designed and simple to service, and I can usually take care of this myself without having a service man. I have particularly enjoyed being able to adapt to each unit almost any type of hand piece, fiberoptic, electrosurge, or static condenser required and use in most patient positions. Thanks again. Sincerely,

Health Science Products Dear HSP: I have been in practice since 1970 and have always been a firm advocate of the "across the chest" delivery system as the most efficient. I purchased your first proto-type which used Encore parts- I have had to replace the Encore parts, but your Arm is still in function. The Liberty II unit that I purchased in 1986 is still going strong. It is a pleasure to have equipment that functions as it is supposed to, without breaking down. This unit is much more sophisticated than the original, but it is the only "across the chest" system today that fulfills the still valid Time-motion studies of Dr. Kilpatrick. For those of us who wish to practice four-handed dentistry with the least amount of stress on our bodies, your dental units are the answer.
Sincerely,
